Get to know our ministry leader

First Lady Iris Austin, who is affectionately called Lady I, is a Sacramento, CA native. In 2018, she married her love, Dennis Austin, Pastor of Higher Heights Community Church (HHCChurch). They have a beautiful, blended family of 7; 5 young men and 2 young ladies. She is also the extremely proud grandmother of 2 handsome little boys.

Lady I has humbly accepted God’s call to support her husband in pastoral ministry leadership. She has willingly submitted to the scripture, “Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might… Because of Lady I’s faithfulness and commitment to God, He continues to birth and release vision in her for the advancement of His Kingdom! She doesn’t always understand the assignment in its totality, but she does understand that her dependence and reliance must be totally on God.

Lady I leads the Women of Excellence (WOE), women’s ministry, at HHCChurch and she hosts bi-weekly women’s “Coffee Talk”; a platform for women of all walks of life to connect and discuss “matters of the heart”. She is gifted to create an environment for women to share their journeys and glean from other’s experiences.

Lady I has a passion for outreach ministry and community development. She has a special place in her heart for God’s people and constantly seeks for opportunities and resources to advance them to new heights. She is the outreach leader for HHCChurch and has now established Higher Heights Community Development Corporation which will soon offer community services to include; housing, social and emotional programs for adults and children, and job training. One of her most recent ventures was founding the “Who’s That Lady” Conference; a platform that brings women together for enrichment in spiritual growth, business opportunities and addressing the emotional and social needs of women.

As Lady I continues to grow in the things of God, her prayer is that others will also come to know the everlasting love and grace of a Father who never abandons, and never fails. Her life’s journey is a testament to God’s promise. Deuteronomy 31:6
